Fishing for fun

Operations engineer Hans Erik Fjeld of Norwegian Polar Institute likes fishing. With a new rod, a well-equipped tackle box, a few beers and his tobacco pouch, the 25 year old from Skien enjoys some quality time on the quay a late afternoon in early August. The Kongsfjord might not provide the best catch, but a good catch is not necessarily the main objective of fishing. When not interrupted by talkative passersby, it has been said that fishing can be a zen-like experience - providing peace of mind and renewed energy.

For impatient souls, however, fishing seems more like endless ennui.
