Ny-Ålesund harbour welcome you all to visit our small harbour
Ny-Ålesund has modern harbour facilities with a 73 meter long quay and a maximum water depth of 8 meters. The pier is accessible from May to October under normal ice conditions. Cargo ships to Ny-Ålesund normally depart from Tromsø in northern Norway with connections to Ny-Ålesund every two to four weeks between May and October. In winter the cargo ship service to Ny-Ålesund is irregular and fully dependant on the ice conditions and demand.

Fuel
Diesel is stored in two tanks with a total capacity of 1080 m3. It is possible to buy fuel for small boats and snowmobiles.
Ny-Ålesund Airport
Hamnerabben
Ny-Ålesund airport, Hamnerabben, is located at 78°56′N 11°56′E and is owned and operated by Kings Bay AS. it consist of a 808-meter long and 30-meter wide gravel runway. Ny-Ålesund airport is open only for traffic with prior agreement.
There are scheduled flights from Svalbard Airport, Longyearbyen to Ny-Ålesund Airport 2 times a week in winter and 4 times a week in the summer. Charter flights are also available on request. The airplane, operated by Lufttransport AS, is a Dornier 228 with up to 19 seats. Tickets are only sold by Kings Bay AS. There is no access for tourists.
Flight Schedule
All bookings and reservations to and from Ny-Ålesund are issued by Kings Bay, not Lufttransport. Check-in in Longyearbyen is 45 min prior to departure time. Check-in in Ny-Ålesund is one hour prior to departure time (departure time from LYR). Maximum luggage, including hand luggage, is 20 kilos per passenger.
